Domaine Ponsot

The Domaine was founded by William Ponsot in 1872, who at that time bought some parcels of the Clos des Monts Luisants and the Clos de la Roche. From 1981 to 2017 Laurent Ponsot was responsible for the operations. in 2017 he stepped down from the estate to concentrate on personal ventures. Rose-Marie Ponsot became the sole Director of the company, seconded by Alexandre Abel. Today the Domaine covers around eleven hectares, 3.4 hectares of which is the entire historic core of the Clos de la Roche. The average age of the vines is ca 50 years, the oldest (Aligote from Monts Luisants) even dates back to 1911. The harvest is traditionally done by hand in small buckets. Late harvesting, which depends on maturity and concentration, is typical for Ponsot.

Extremely refined Domaine with more than 80% Grand Cru wines in production.
