Domaine Laurent Roumier is part of the estate division created in 1924 by his legendary grandfather George Roumier. In fact, Laurent is a cousin of Christophe Roumier who lives across Laurent’s house.

Long associated with his brother Herve, it is in 1991 that Laurent created his own estate with four hectares of vines in rent. Through new acquisitions, he now has significantly grown as Domaine and has excellent plots of Clos de Vougeot and Bonnes Mares alongside Chambolle 1 er Cru Les Charmes as flagships of the Domaines. The vineyards of Domaine Laurent Roumier, mainly composed of old vines of an average age of 35-40 years, are worked in a traditional way, in the same way as did his own father, Alain. 

Laurent Roumier cultivates his vines in a completely natural way without fertilizer or herbicide. The winemaking is done in the old style, which gives the wines exceptional aromas. The harvest is done manually and carefully.

Laurent’s wines are beatiful reflection of the terroir and with some aging may beat top wines in blind tastings. Very elegant traditional style.

Domaine Benjamin Roblot is a very promising new domaine in Chambolle-Musigny run by Benjamin Roblot, 36 years old educated engineer.  Domaine is new but has original routes to Chambolle Musigny in the 1970s when Benjamin’s grandfather Maurice Roblot was cultivating great plots in Chambolle-Musigny. When he passed away in 1980, the vineyards were inherited by his children, Benjamin’s father and his sister who decided to lease all of the vineyards. Later on the plots of the father’s sister were sold while Benjamin’s father kept them leasing to Herve Roumier (brother of Laurent Roumier and cousin of Christoph Roumier). When some of the leases established in 1980 finished in 2006, Benjamin’s father reclaimed the vineyards and started selling grapes to négociants transforming them at the same time to organic.

Benjamin made his first Domaine’s vintage in 2016.  Benjamin Roblot’s holdings included the Grand Cru Bonnes-Mares, the super Premier Cru Les Amoureuses, and three more Premier Cru in Chambolle: Les Fuées, Les Groseilles (made so far only in 2017) and Les Gruenchers. with the end of the lease of more of his father’s vineyards, from 2019-2020 vintage Benjamin got back two additional vineyards of Chambolle 1er Cru, Gruenchers and Noirots, as well as some Chambolle village and Bourgogne vineyards. 

In 2019 Benjamin also produced an excellent Marsannay as negoce.

Benjamin is a perfectionist and very detailed personality. First vintages were made for long aging as only very powerful appellations such as Les Amoureuses, Bonnes Mares and Les Gruenchers were available. With every new vintage his wine is becoming more refined and elegant. Very promising!

It is in Chambolle-Musigny, a charming village in Burgundy, nestled mid-slope in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, between Morey-Saint-Denis and Vougeot, that we meet Domaine AMIOT-SERVELLE.

An appellation with musical syllables imbued with sweetness and finesse, one of the most “feminine” wines of the Côte de Nuits.

The Domaine started with Clément Tachot in 1920s. Cécile, his daughter, and Jean Servelle, his son-in-law, took over from him in the 1950s and created the Domaine Servelle-TACHOT. In 1980, Christian Amiot, whose father, Pierre Amiot, was a vine-grower in the neighboring village of Morey-Saint-Denis, came to work on the estate with his wife, Elisabeth Servelle. 

In 1989, Christian and Elisabeth Amiot-Servelle took over the activity: the Domaine AMIOT-SERVELLE came into being. 

 Christian and Elisabeth have three children: Prune, Violette and Antoine. 

 Violette chose music and is an artist-teacher of percussion at the regional academy of music. 

 As to Prune, she obtained her diploma in oenology (DNO) in 2004. Then, after a period of training experience and working for various vineyard-owners both in France and abroad, she came back to the family estate in May 2011. Antoine joined her bit later after graduation of Dijon Business School.

Domaine has excellent plots of Les Amoureuses, rare Grand Cru Clos St. Denis and impressive variety of Chambolle’s 1er Crus. Great wines!

Domaine Gérard Raphet is traditionally run domain. Marion Raphet is the fifth generation of Raphet. Step by step she is taking over the 12-hectare domain from her father Gerard. They cultivate the soil intensively and sustainably, making their wines traditionally and completely natural without any tricks. The wines are fine, fresh and fruity. Domaine has a remarkable line of appellations including 120 years old vines of Clos Vougeot, Clos de Beze, the excellent plot of Clos de la Roche and Charmes Chambertin.

Domaine Robert Groffier belongs to the best producers of finest wines in Burgundy. 

Nicolas Groffier, born in 1984, and his younger sister Julie, are now representative of the 5th generation in charge. Since Nicolas started in 2005 there have been no herbicides used in the vineyards. Located in Morey-Saint-Denis, the estate owns most of its vines in Chambolle-Musigny, with, among other things, a magnificent plot in Les Amoureuses. From the villages to the grand crus, the wines turn out to be fine, with this silky texture that perfectly symbolizes the style of the estate. From the 2014 vintage, the estate only sells half of the last vintage, and now prefers to bring out mature wines, aware that many of them are undoubtedly drunk too early and subject to speculation.  

Either Bourgogne Pinot Noir or Grand Crus Clos de Beze or Bonnes Mares – all wines are excellent presentations of terroir and Doamine’s signature.
