Vintage report 2022

The "Miracle" Vintage

After the tiny 2021 harvest, 2022 provided both quality and much-needed quantity. Despite another hot, dry summer, the vines seemed to have adapted to the heat. Rains in June saved the vintage, providing enough hydration to prevent the "shut down" of ripening seen in previous hot years.

 * The Profile: The wines are remarkably harmonious. The reds are "gourmand"—supple, ripe, and silky with moderate acidity. The whites are sun-kissed but retain a core of white-peach fruit and mineral tension.

 * Regional Note: This is a rare vintage where both the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits performed equally well across all levels. It is a "buy broadly" vintage, as even Village-level wines show exceptional balance and immediate charm.
