The Generous Paradox

2023 was the hottest year on record globally, yet Burgundy produced its most generous crop in history. This led to a "dilution vs. concentration" debate. Producers who managed their high yields correctly made beautiful wines; those who didn't ended up with thinner results.

 * The Profile: These are approachable, "joyful" wines. The reds are characterized by soft tannins and a "red-fruit" energy. The whites are fleshier and rounder than the 2022s, leaning into a more tropical/stone-fruit spectrum.

 * Regional Note: In the Côte de Beaune, the whites are lush and ready for early drinking. In the Côte de Nuits, the Pinot Noirs are fragrant and charming, lacking the "grip" of 2020 but offering immense pleasure for those who don't want to wait 20 years to open a bottle.
